What are the bands/artists that quintessentially represent Music Banter. I don't mean Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa etc... One that comes to mind for me is Primal Scream. What do yall think?

None of those. It may seem like it is but i know many haters. The Clash is a close one.

So are we looking for bands that everyone likes?

More recently Snowman, and/or The Fall.

James Chance and The Contortions... not everyone likes them, but...

I don't know of anyone that hates Arrested Development... but they're not talked about that much.

I don't hate them, but darnit, I really don't have anything to say about them, so there ya go, theory confirmed!

I vote Mclusky. This is the only band I can think of that I checked out not because of a specific recommendation from someone here but simply because so many different people on MB kept talking about them.
