Rodan was a band that came from the same group of friends and musicians here in Louisville that formed Slint. Their sound is very similar and definitely has that off-kilter "90's Louisville Post-Hardcore/Math Rock/Spoken Word" sound. It's really good stuff, I have no idea why I didn't listen to it before now.

George Jones & Jim Lauderdale (audio) - YouTube

Man, that Jim Lauderdale had a voice that could harmonize with anything. Bet he could even pull it off with the Queen's speech or something.

I have- or once had- their album Rusty on vinyl. Loaned it out awhile back and haven't seen it since. But I want to pick up Fifteen Quiet Years. I hear it includes a download for 10 live tracks from the band's personal collection. That alone should be worth the price of the album.
