^ To put it mildly, I fucking love this song |
**** guilty pleasure, this track is just awesome. |
because minimal techno mixed by a Franka Potente sortofnotreallylookalike is... good |
In spite of his being a Wiganer and therefore cool as fuck by default, I'm not exactly a fan of Richard Ashcroft's music, both solo and when he was in the Verve. He has a funny habit of making kick-arse singles yet pretty boring full-length albums. You can't not love this song though...

^where do all the guts and enodcrine systems fit in such a tiny frame? goddam musicians and their bodies. it's a shame he makes such boring music, i used to play Urban Hymns to death though. And the first Verve album is really good if you are up for it. he's got nothing on techno franka though Alex

:D
It's the same story with the Verve for me. Great singles, I've never been very impressed with any of their albums, including Urban Hymn. Bear in mind though, Bittersweet Symphony is basically a part of my childhood - I mean, what kind of an (English) human being doesn't remember those string arrangements eh ;) |
possibly the most inappropriate album to study to. Sparks were vastly superior to Queen for baroque arrangements, the could rock when they needed to and their lyrics were f*cking sharp and funny. Unlike Queen's. Genii i tells ya also the cover art is a candidate for the next avatar |
A cool song from a great album |
