I don't like it compared to their other work, personally.

You like False Cathedrals better? Oh, and I've had Song in the Air on repeat for about 4 hours now, the entire album. I personally can't get enough of it. Maybe a refresher?

Yup, definitely like False Cathedrals and U.S. Songs better. I had a refresher this summer, after it sitting several years and having listened to a lot more post rock and atmospheric rock since, I thought I'd have more appreciation for it but no, I didn't really enjoy it. It has ok moments but it just drags and makes me miss the older material.

edit: dammit a song from it just came up on shuffle. :p: It's not bed time yet.

^ Top stuff. Sounds a lot like something off of Blood On the Tracks, which is never a bad thing.

Haha, oh ok, I guess people really do have varying opinions! But False Cathedrals was indeed an awesome album as well, but I have to give props to Song in the Air too! :D

Having a bit of a Beatles day today. I've listened to Help!, Abbey Road and Rubber Soul already today and have A Hard Days Night and Yellow Submarine queued next.

remasters?

i am listening to 'Preliminaires', Iggy Pop's new album. It's a stylistic departure, very laid back blues/New Orleans jazz stuff you'd perhaps expect of your average 62-year-old. It's actually really good. Unlike Iggy's French. better than Green Day collaborations at any rate

Mojo 10-05-2009 11:59 AM

Nah i havent listened to the remasters. I think i will eventually but it's a while since i listened to much Beatles stuff so i'm not sure i would be able to hear much of a difference on a lot of the tracks.

I might have to listen to Iggy's solo stuff again and give it another go. I love The Stooges but none of his solo material did anything for me.
