From the 'doo-wop' winks to the hand clap crushes, Blondie's debut is an excellent look over the shoulder to great 50's era rock n roll while perfectly placed in its own nest - a punk setting sandwich somewhere between Richard Hell and Patti Smith. One of my favorite records...an absolute gem.

I think in contrast to Parallel Lines, Blondie is far better served listening to all at once as opposed to taking any of the tracks out of context.

Got hip to these guys from a Chicago podcast. Just ripped and am now listening...so far I hear a J&MC (Psychocandy), MBV sorta thing going on...

If you're gonna rip a band off, you could do worse than MBV or old J&MC...
