I prefer Kylie Minogue - she's better looking, her songs have better beats and she just sings about getting on the dance floor and getting it on without all the preachiness and high minded baggage that Madge tries to bring to the table. That's just me though...

I found this at the nasty bowery used record store I don't go to very often for fear of getting some mold disease. This place is so dirty that it's almost appropriate to greet the wheezy Asthmatic owner with 'Hey! You're still alive!'
Anyway a great discovery and recommended to my fellow eccentric eclectics - rousing Gypsy music made all the more dynamic by Yul Brynner's commanding presence. I was afraid he would do a Telly Savalas and merely recite the lyrics, but he really sings his heart out here and before I knew it, I was dancing around the house, wishing I had a tambourine. Yet another great release on the wonderful Vanguard label! |
