You gave me a sedative. I feel I owe you, so, I will give some Junkyard Speed Ball.

The next song on my shuffle was just too awesome to not put here. Tegan and Sara have great harmony (especially at the "Monday" part) and they're so endearing...and the music they sing to always fits very well. It's not very complicated music. I like the simplicity. This song, like Pretty Lush, has found itself at the top of my Myspace play list more than once.

aaaand another great song comes up on shuffle...

Borne on the FM Waves of the Heart - Against Me! (Ft. Tegan Quinn)

Anxiety, Anxiety you give me no mercy.
Grind my teeth smooth and flat in my sleep.
We took some pills to calm us down.
Then we needed help to come back up.
Just trying to stay in control of the situation.

This song makes me go crazy. Its so beautiful, it features two of my favorite vocalists ever...(Tom Gabel and Tegan Quinn) ...I don't remember who showed it to me first but it's been a video on my Myspace for months. That video was amazing..it was a live version. Gone now. So you get some crap with a picture. But go read the lyrics. So good. The guitar is really, really good too. But the vocals, just amazing.
My favorite new band. As opposed to all the old favorites of the previous 40 years. Against Me! My son turned me on to a lot of good music. Tom Gabel is a genius to be sure. A brilliant lyricist, a great vocalist, and they are awesome live. Your song was deleted, as I was searching for former clarity

I am thinking. Every song is 5 stars, so, I'm thinking about "unprotected sex with multiple partners" That would be awesome.

He tells it like is, and does not give a crap for rhythmic structure. And, they are accused of selling out. What a crock. He grew up, and realized no one gives a crap, and, his ideals were useless, because, everyone is fu*cking asleep, and, didn't give a sh*t. So, he just changed the message, and, decided he might as well make some jack. The music did not get worse, and, the lyrics are still strong as ever. He's still angry as ever. At different sh*t now. And I for one, really appreciated it when he stopped screaming, and starting singing. Although Reinventing Axle Rose is one of the most lyrically strong albums ever.

Everyone's a critic, but hey they really respect your talent.
Have your manager call my manager, and we'll make records together.
At this level of success in entertainment, there are certain confrontations.
It's a "you give we take" relationship.
The kids just wouldn't understand it.
Come on now, how long do think this is really gonna last?
How long can you hold their attention? How long before they move on to the next band?
On the inside.
On the inside.
On the inside.
Do you wanna know how it feels on the inside?
On the inside.
On the inside.
On the inside.
Do you wanna know how it feels on the inside?

Coordinate the marketing, label, publicity, touring.
Consult on, timing and presentation.
Go ahead put this in context.
It's 3 points on production, 15% to management,
10% to the agent, 5% to legal representation.
We call it our insurance plan to stretch the inevitable as far as we can.
Gotta make your money while you got the chance,
do whatever it takes to sell it.

On the inside.
On the inside.
On the inside.
Do you wanna know how it feels on the inside?
On the inside.
On the inside.
On the inside.
Do you wanna know how it feels on the inside?
(Let's go)
Just how desperate can we be?
Go buy our record and see.
Just how angry can we seem?
Go buy our record and see.
Just how ****ed up can it get?
Go buy our record and see.
Just how much can we bleed?
We're completely irrelevant on LP and compact disc.

On the inside.
On the inside.
On the inside.
Do you wanna know how it feels on the inside?

Repeat 3X

Your pick was awesome too. They all are. thanks.

peace

I can see why that movie has never been remade. And, I guarantee it never will. If it was a real life figure who made this speech, charlie would have been silenced and assassinated. Real quick

We could remake it ten thousand times, and, people still wouldn't hear it, or do anything, but say, "that's a good speech". And, then go get a beer, and, crank up the internet porn.

Excellent. Sadly. Great post. thanks. It's going in my book that will never get published

I created a thread for protest and peace, oppression and such songs. Maybe you have some to share. Hope so.

I was saving this one for the thread, but, here's a good riot folk artist.

I horded all the fruits and all the vegetables and grains
Kept em for myself but made a price that you could pay
And from this early pattern a structure did become
And that's about the only that governments have done

I hired you to work for me so you could buy my food
Created an economy that barely gave a clue
That you did all the labor and I got all the funds
And that's about the only thing that governments have done

I built a giant fortress where my family could reside
Filled you workers up with myths of patriotic pride
Filled my life with luxury and politics and fun
And that's about the only that governments have done

I sent the children off to schools to be taught and trained
Into roles that benefit and keep the structure maintained
I kept them from their history and slowly made em' dumb
And that's about the only that governments have done

I built with brick a place for those who didn't play my game
Who wouldn't plow my fields for me or pay praise to my name
I built up giant prison walls so people couldn't run
And that's about the only that governments have done

I launched a million wars in the name of private greed
I killed off all the natives from the mountains to the sea
I murdered them with slavery, and small pox, and guns
And that's about the only thing that governments have done

I gave you back some freedom in that silly Bill of Rights
Used all the proper language so you wouldn't rise to fight
I fooled you all with imagery now look what I've become
And that's about the only thing that governments have done

Yes I fought long and hard to secure my place on top
Through bombs and tanks and crack cocaine and violence from the cops
I kept you apathetic and this is how I've won
And that's about the only thing that governments have done

peace
