Being able to play at this level of complexity in the studio is amazing, but the fact that they can play the song live with even more intricacy is beyond astounding. One of my all time favorite songs... I doubt there's a band that could cover it and sound like this.
Fantastic album, and it doesn't get its fair shake being the precursor to Hwy61 and Blonde on Blonde Watching this DVD right now. I think Iron Maiden catches the metal aesthetic better than any band with the opening of this concert, and the metaphoric gun patrol opening of Steve Harris, Dave Murray, and Adrian Smith attacking the stage as the song begins is amazing. |
