I've recently been listening to a lot of old school rock and metal and have come to the conclusion that Deep Purple are one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time.

Imo, when you have the Gilliam, Blackmore, and Lord combination, Deep Purple >> Led Zepplin. The band just killed itself with continual line-up changes.

I also feel that Blackmore is one of the most innovative guitarists of all time. Really, I can't think of any precursors apart from -maybe- Zappa to the whole classical music inspired shredding style that later became popular in metal. I have no idea why he isn't considered up there in terms of Jimmy Page, Van Halen, or Hendrix when it comes to importance.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God
