Great song, love all of that guitar. Like my sweetie (an old rocker) says sometimes, Southern Rock is some of the very best out there.
I'm not a fan of 'Lilith' type stuff but this is such an interesting early 70s song. LOVE that classic Bassline

Red Clay Strays
Recently ran across this group and I'm digging a couple of their songs alot. Think they are technically listed as Country but feel abit more Southern Rock to me.
First one is called "Wondering Why" and it puts into words how most of us feel about our special somebody at one point or another. And I don't know what happened But it sure don't add up on paper But when I close my eyes late at night You can bet I thank my maker She keeps on loving me Loves me the way I am She's not just along for the ride She's my biggest fan Lord, it's a little old piece of heaven When we lay down at night She keeps on loving me And I keep on wondering why Strong heartfelt lyrics and I have havn't mentioned lead singers voice. He has alot of depth n "soul" in it. Makes me feel the words. Drowning is the second track by them that has grabbed me. Talks about something else most people can relate to, depression and just feeling like the odds are against you and can't win. I try to see the world's true colors But they're all just shades of gray And it's only getting duller Every passing day And the more I fake a smile The more I'm bound to break I've never felt so alone in a crowd full of folks I'm trying just to hide the pain It's just a matter of time till I can't see the light And I hit rock bottom again Again the vocals on this are damn good and I'd recommend these tracks to anyone who enjoys either genre. |

I would say that Uriah Heep has about four songs I consider absolute classics (Stealin', Gypsy, Bird Of Prey, Easy Livin', Sweet Lorraine)...that's five. They also have a ton of great late night tracks to help make the wee hours pass until morning. Here is a track from the most recent album by Pat Travers which was released in 2022, the song is a tribute to Ronnie Montrose (RIP) I have tix to see Pat next month, woohoo!
