![]() Good tune. Do you still live in Omaha, Farewell? One of my favorite things to do is visit cities that aren't obvioous tourist destinations. Can you recommend any good music venues, bookstores, record stores, brewpubs, or other interesting places in Omaha? |

https://theslowdown.com/history/ - This was founded by Robb & Jason of Saddle Creek Records. It's an all ages venue. https://admiralomaha.com/ - FKA Sokol Auditorium https://waitingroomlounge.com/ - FKA Lift Ticket Lounge https://reverblounge.com/ https://thesydneybenson.com/ Record stores: https://www.grapefruitrecordclub.com/ https://www.recycledsoundsomaha.com/ https://homersmusic.com/ I only frequent used bookstores these days and this is a local favorite in the Old Market downtown: Jackson Street Booksellers I'm not a frequent brewpub guy, but I'm familiar with this particular place but I can't vouch for it against other brewpubs in the area. Sorry! https://upstreambrewing.com/ Perhaps Omaha Reddit or VisitOmaha.com would be a better resource for brewpubs? If you do make it to the "O" I hope you enjoy your stay! ![]() EDIT: Wanted to add this short documentary about the infamous Cog Factory. Conor Oberst, The Faint, Cursive and a slew of other Omaha bands/artists wielded their craft at this all ages venue between 1994 - 2002. RIP Cog Factory! <--- God I miss that place! So many memories! Thank you so much for taking the time to post such an extensive and informative reply, Farewell. I definitely won't be bored on a Omaha visit! I was going to visit Omaha a little before COVID hit, but Mrs. Drjohnrock wanted to go to Sarasota, so off to Sarasota we went. I still intend to make it to Omaha before I so to that big rock club in the sky--or down below, as the case may be. How are you liking Chicago? There's a great record store that moved from Cincinnati to Chicago a little over a year ago that I highly recommend. They have a ton of interesting vinyl. And while their new CD selection could be better, they also seem to have a really good selection of used ones: https://www.tornlightrecords.com/?sr...NvBUg6G_K-x07y |
