Always great to hear new music from Watsky.

Spending my morning revisiting favorite quirky leftfield tracks spun in DJ sessions by Fred Deakin of Lemon Jelly during his Balearic sets on BBC Radio 1's The Breezeblock. I'll share a few beloved eccentricities below.

Marsha Gee - “Peanut Duck" is a goofy dance single recorded in Philadelphia in 1965 by an unknown vocalist, credited falsely to Marsha Gee and pressed by Penniman label in Spain in 2005. I secured the last copy from the label.

(Not) Marsha Gee - “Peanut Duck”

Another oddity is this electro-reggae DJ single by Black Lodge from 2002 which samples the psychedelic elephants-on-parade scene from Dumbo. It was limited to a run of 500 copies worldwide.

Fred also likes to dabble in cheeky 60s love choons. Two favorites include:

Sue Thompson - "Norman"

and Max Miller "The Cheeky Chappie" - "Mary Ann" from the end of his 1958 Max at the Met LP

(Sorry - the timestamp suffix to queue the end of the show isn't working in BBCode, so use the hyperlink below the embedded YouTube object instead.)

Wonderfully weird music to kick off my weekend.

This was getting its dick sucked on the internet so I checked it out. And I kinda hate it. It's like if Eminem loved Rodrigo y Gabriella. Should be amazing. Sounds pretty juvenile.
