ok maybe I need to retract my dismissive statements about the Who because My Generation (I mean the album, the song is meh) actually kind of rules

For a very long time dismissed/I didn't care about this album, but then I got it.
And I got obsessed with it. "I Don't Mind" "It's Not True" and "La-la-la-lies" I mean, it's basically a Rock'n'Roll record. One of – if not – the first where band members tried to write original and catchy songs in this formula. The Beatles had another one, The Stones had another one, and maybe two or three other bands from the 60s had this sort of "magical personality" that later inspired the modern ways of writing/playing. The Who had one, that's for sure. And this record is like listening to "Please, Please Me" – This is the kind of band that has something to say, but struggles with the delivery |

the issue for me was that the music of theirs that's usually played is either My Generation or some **** from Who's Next and I don't like that stuff much. Earlier today I Can't Explain was playing in a shop and suddenly it clicked

I often wonder how so many 70's R&B acts lasted long enough to get signed when any money from club GiGs had to be split 8-20 ways as opposed to the standard setup of just 3-5 members. I'm basically saying the more people in your band the smaller each slice of the pie is when the owner of the dive bar pays you. it's one of the reasons I migrated from alternative to an alternative rock influenced version of DnB no band any gigs I get I don't have to split up the proceeds.
