I just purchased tix for The Bouncing Souls in Cleveland at the Agora in April, woohoo. It will be my 4th time seeing the band since first seeing them in 2004.

I definitely hear the Cure influence too, maybe that's why I liked it. I like the way you expressed that the influence doesn't overwhelm their sound. I guess that's when things start sounding unoriginal and imitative. I don't think I've heard of Rolling Blackouts Fever will have to check them out.
