I’ve been on the planet long enough to know a high percentage of those who adhere to extreme metal/punk etc played at high volume (preferably distorted) are doing so behind the locked door of their bedroom with the specific aim of driving their parents insane. I think the correct term is ‘juvenile’.

I think people who think most kids listen to metal or punk to piss off their parents only know about teen culture through badly written films/tv/books. That's just severely out of touch
