Haha, I figured 'well that isn't very original'.
Clicked play. And listened through the whole song :D. |

The Kinks - You Really Got Me Before that I was listening to a song I always enjoy when I hear it on the radio, one reason being that this song uses the word "moot" in it. I think this may be only song in existence that uses the word "moot." :) Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl |

I'm very amused by the video (below) since the video isn't at *all* what I envisioned based on the music. I always imagined the singers looking like Japanese robots...kind of like Devo. Instead what we get is a fake Medieval romp. :( I used to think the song was cool...but now.... Bah. I still think it's cool. This song has probably helped multitudes of shy, overly self-conscious tween years kids such as I was get over their inhibitions and actually allow themselves to dance at school parties. That's a good thing. |

I was recording a tape with a lot of Django Reinhardt on it for a forummember.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...io/django1.jpg He's not much of an audiophile himself and he said: "This is probably the first premium quality recording I've ever had". But well... It's Django Reinhardt, it's recordings from the late 30's to the early 50's. It sounds awful :D. So now I'm recording him a little tape (13cm reel, half an our of music) with 1. The Coral - Walking in the Winter (LP) 2. Calexico - The News about William (CD) 3. Jamiroquai - Drifting Along (CD) 4. Arbouretum - Highwayman (LP) 5. Sleepy Sun - Rigamaroo (LP) 6. Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing (LP) 7. The Upsessions - Dorothee Blackswan (LP) 8. Belle & Sebastian - I Fought in a War (LP) Hope he likes it :) |

While thinking about Van Halen's cover of "You Really Got Me," I asked myself what female singers have made songs that are equivalently carnal, since it often seems as if most love/lust songs are by men. I came up with three so far: Shakira's "Shewolf" (which I hate) and the following two, which I like. :) So now I'm listening to these: Blondie - In the Flesh Sweet but sensual at the same time. Divinyls - I touch myself Very blatant. Perhaps a good female counterpart to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's infamous, "Relax (Don't do it)" which I remember seeing in concert in Germany. So which is better, "I touch myself" or "Relax (Don't do it)?" My vote goes to the Divinyls because she is a little more holistic in her approach to desire.
