Musica elettronica
Album by Bruno Maderna

Quote:
Bruno Maderna (21 April 1920 – 13 November 1973) was an Italian conductor and composer.
A lot like Stockhausen. I recommend this for fans of early Tangerine Dream and modern drone and dark ambient stuff.

I think Frown and Grindy at least put mental notes on my recs

I also think Key ISB and Exo would enjoy this

Nothing like Stockhausen, but, still a nice historical look at the electronic pieces
that were his Fonologica Musicale studio works. The studio was founded by Maderna
(or "Brutal Madonna" as a friend and I used to say) and Berio. He did three electronic
works that were pre-Studio FM in Köln and Milan, but these are really the height of his
work (especially with the help of the great composer and engineer Zuccheri). You might
notice that he was taken by the flute - especially the playing of Severino Gazzelloni -
because he used its sound in his various manipulations on each piece on that disc
(except for Dimensioni II - but he does use some of Gazzelloni's voice). You get to hear
the diva Cathy Berberian emoting text prepared by the great Hans G. Helms as well.
Very nice collection.

A lot of it is like the electronics on Stockhausen’s Hymnen (to my little ears)

I remember this post as well

My first time experiencing it live was with Stockhausen
himself as klangregie. Later he taught me how to engineer
the sound in the space. Later performances were with him
being present too.

I will disagree on the Xenakis statement tho.
My third favorite work of all time is his Bohor from 1962.

*Schaeffer* BTW
Your distinctions are obviously finer than mine: to you it might be baseball and football and to me it might be like yeah American stadium sports

Severino Gazzelloni
You’re probably not surprised that the Dolphy track comes to mind.
