Chewing through that giant Judie Tzuke collection I bought. I'm not listening to much else for the time being. Right now, I'm listening through her 2017 album Peace Has Broken Out, which I didn't even expect to be included in the collection, but thankfully it is!
Judie Tzuke - Peace Has Broken Out - Track 10: Thunder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AXXBlCYoQY So far, it's everything I like about these kinds of songwriter records. It's sophisticated, subtly varied in texture, and every song has it's own stylistic variations compared to the rest, yet the album is very cohesive in sound and mood. This makes for a very engaging listen, of course with the up-front understanding that this is going to be some pretty laid back, understated music in general. No bangers here. |

Half way through and I'm bored as hell. It's a really corny mesh of corny techno with corny pop punk oozing in the most cliche teenage rebellion of it's time. They call themselves "Digital Hardcore" and I really don't get the "hardcore". It does not sound at all like hardcore punk. It's just Blink 182 or Sum41 over predictable techno tropes.

Raucous as **** and the opening of "London's Burning" is a blast of pure energy that puts the album version absolutely to shame.
