I really love The Shins, I don't care what anyone thinks. I fell in love with them when their debut album came out, it was magical to me - lyrically and musically. Maybe it's because I'm a giant pussy. But whatever the reason, they do something right.
My favorite Shins song would have to be New Slang. I could listen to that song endlessly

Then we split a year ago and I started going out more, so the bad habit resurfaced. Luckily you can't smoke inside any place in Seattle, and not many people I know smoke so that's good. I got in the habit of smoking each time I went out, then it turned into a one a day habit, regardless of whether I went out or not. I smoked a lot during my 2-week vacation in Houston for Christmas, and decided I had better quit entirely for new year's. I at least went a few days without, but decided maybe it's ok to have just one on nights I drink. It's really not, but at least I've stopped having them on nights that I don't go out. Sorry for the long story, I'm sure you didn't need to know that much.
That's funny. You just really don't look like a smoker to me, if that makes any sense. I guess that makes us pretty much opposites since people always think I smoke for some weird reason.

That's a great song. I always liked that album cover and her appearance/style during that phase. Had never seen the video actually.

Well hopefully I'll be a non-smoker again soon! I noticed after going a few days without that the taste was grosser. Not as gross as when I would have one every 6 months or something though. I just need to not go out so much, or find a nice non-smoking girl to date.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I'm having a beer while my lately acquired (and by now, very good sounding) Teac X-3 records a mixtape.

Apart from some tracks the mood on this tape is pretty downish.
Happens sometimes .

Calexico - Ballad of Cable Hogue
The National - Green Gloves
Neil Young - Alabama
John Holt - Tonight
Crosby, Stills & Nash - 4 + 20
Sleepy Sun - Ooh Boy
Nick Drake - Fruit Tree
The National - Start a War

B
Al Stewart - Bedsitter Images
Devics - Siren Song
The Good, the Bad and the Queen - Behind the Sun
Bob Dylan - Don't think Twice, it's Allright
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Just a Song before I Go

I shall now fire up my typewriter to type the index.

I went through this with an ex of mines. Trying to change who I am as a person that didn't work out too well.
