So just how much black metal influence is there in skramz? Cause this sounds like some kind of savage-as-****-post-hardcore-proto-blackgaze or some ****. **** it rules too.

What's skramz?
Pretty good track, by the way. :thumb:

"Skramz" is a term for original screamo (original emo with screaming vocals, to be reductionist) used to differentiate it from the modern, ignorant perception of screamo that's just derivative pop punk with screaming and melodic metalcore.

I'm not sure just how much you'd like skramz since a lot of it is almost like a grindcore version of post-hardcore (again being reductionist, but that **** could be pretty ****ing intense), but Envy had a lot diversity and sophistication that you'd probably dig. All the Footprints You've Ever Left and the Fear Expecting Ahead is a pretty great album you should hear.

It is reductionist to a degree but "the grindcore of post hardcore" is a pretty great way to describe skramz.

Ok, right, thanks. May give that a spin.

It's legit an album I think you'd be interested in and if you were still doing Love/Hate I'd rec it to you right now.

It's probably not completely true that it was an FU at the local music scene. They just weren't aloud to play most shows cause they were under 21. That's why they did it. Is that really a fuck you?
