Starting the morning off with the elegantly ethereal Hosianna Mantra by Popol Vuh. Wah-Wah Records in Spain issued this edition in 2013 with a bonus 7" of "Ave Maria."

I like overblown pomp, corniness, and pop majesty, so I guess I'm about to see if I can get into show tunes. Don't know yet, but there's something there. Maybe I'll check out some actual performances and not just songs to see if something clicks more. Idina Menzel is indeed ****ing delightful though.

That's actually a thing? I thought they made that up!

Lulz, at least everyone in America is highly aware of Wicked, even if most of us have never seen it or heard any songs. It was a cultural phenomenon. Apparently.

TFW you have not the slightest idea of what to listen to so you just kind of play a game of maybe/maybe not while looking at your music folders and somehow end up at Yes. Wasn't expecting that. It's working though so I guess it wasn't in vain.

I decided to do the same for three songs in a row. I used a random number generator to pick the bands and tracks from my mp3 folders.

First try: Nneka - The Uncomfortable Truth

I haven't listened to this artist in ages. Really, really good, actually!

Second try: No Doubt - Staring Problem

Now there's an album I haven't heard for probably 10+ years. I used to like this album a lot, but that was way back before I started finding tonnes of new artists to explore. I still hold that this is their best album (it
s from Return of Saturn).

Third try: Helloween - Why

Holy ****, this is turning into a real nostalgia trip! Helloween is one of the very first metal bands I fell in love with. This one takes me back to the late 90's.
