Don't know where I found this or why a Canterbury scene album would be on my computer, but atm it's pretty alright and kind of gnarly even.

^ That song is so funny and un self aware. I read someone describe it as her "GOING OFF on someone in 10th grade because she lost the student council election" which is exactly what it sounds like. This is her 2001 bratty goth Degrassi moment.

Yeah, I get what she's going for-- and every pop star has their ~edgy~ phase-- but it really is cringey. It's an attempt to seem self-aware that somehow manages to still push the whole victim narrative. She'd be a lot more endearing if her and her team stopped trying to make her seem clever in an effort to make her recent PR slip-ups/lies seem like they were something more complex (everyone's out to get her!!!1) than just her being duplicitous. Even her long-time fans must be tired of it, surely. Also, she should either go back to country-pop or Carly Rae Jepsen-lite type pop like her last album. (This is why I appreciate pop stars like Rihanna and Kylie Minogue; they don't try to explain anything or do cringey Katy Perry type PR stunts. They just put out music.) (Sorry I have a lot of feelings about pop marketing strategies apparently) |

I used to think No Remorse wouldn't kill me since I'm lily white as ****, but since I'm a "dirty white slag walking round town with a jigaboo" I guess I'm screwed.

There's a few tunes on "Installation" that are great (like Alter Ego), but it just doesn't hold up organically like "Phantasia". The use of ambient techno mixed with their usual mathrock foundation just falls short and sounds almost sterile at times. I was diggin the bit of funk on Fog On though. Killer groove on that. Not a bad album at all, I think I'm just too used to the Phant.

So you're Rodney Dangerfield on the disc golf course? There needs to be more people blasting tunes on the course. It's not real golf and **** all that etiquette nonsense.

As much fun as the title and lyrics to this song are, this is legit possibly my fav song I've discovered this year. I find myself singing it inside my head all the time and busting it out constantly even when I have no desire to listen to this kind of music. It's just perfectly fun and anthemic. Early No Remorse had a bit of a knack for making odd little pop songs like this that didn't just sound like generic yob punk.
We fly the Swastika! We fly it strong and true! We ain't never gonna take it down For the communists or Jews!

That's an excellent album but you need to get on some Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt, and Kevin Ayers if you're gonna go around talking about Canterbury scene like that. And Gong and Egg to a much, much lesser extent.
