Just received my new pair of MEE M6 Pro IEMs which I ordered after my Creative Zen X-Fi headphones bit the dust after nearly 15 years of service.
I keep a test playlist on hand for just such an occasion. I always open with Underworld's Dubnobasswithmyheadman - an album I know so completely by memory that it is a perfect benchmark recording. Other lossless archival recordings in the set include: Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions (2015 Remaster 24-bit FLAC) Bernard Parmegiani - De Natura Sonorum (1975) Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady (1963) Morton Feldman - The Late Piano Works Vol. 3 ( Steffen Schleiermacher) (2007) Jean-Claude Risset - Sud (1985) John Cage - Concert for Piano and Orchestra, Atlas Eclipticalis (1992) Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (1959) Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973) [SPECIAL] {Immersion Blu-Ray 2011 2.0 24 bits 96kHz FLAC} Radiohead - OK Computer (1997) and Steely Dan - Aja (1998 Steve Hoffman remaster of UK MCA MCLD 19145) (1977)

Diamanda Galas - Litanies of Satan
I discovered her just this morning in one of my lectures and I'm not ****ting you, one of the most intense and ultimately inspiring (maybe even shocking!) discoveries I've made this year! It's for solo voice and (if you couldn't tell from the name of the album), she is screaming and shouting and sounds demon possessed. **** I love this!! <3 One of the track titles: "Wild Women With Steak-Knives (The Homicidal Love Song For Solo Scream)"

It's really good!!
She rivals Mike Patton's extreme solo vocal performances, very strongly (though different). What a powerful voice! I'm loving the ritualistic occult themes too (as that is a subject/philosophy I have been interested in for a long time)

This is the kind of thing I wanted when I initially discovered Georges Aperghis' Recitations Cycle and Luciano Berio's Sequenza for voice (as much as I like them).
In my philosophy with extreme music (regardless if it's in classical or metal or punk etc tradition) is: either you go All the way, or you don't go at all
