It's really some of their best stuff. Love how I always worry about them rutting it up before they launch into something really progressive. Feeling a light Holy ****/10 on this one.

German psychedelic prog with prominent atonal and musique concréte elements stemming from what I perceive to be surrealism influences. Quite fascinating to listen to, the closest direct comparison I could make is Faust; yet it's more melodic when it comes to it, like a lengthy series of darker, more intricate and better realized Moonchilds. The tracks are solid and quite varied, and the atmosphere is just out of the roof - like entering the world of a feverish, drugged out Kalevala folk tale. that's another good description I just plagiarized |
Big fan of Christoph Heemann and H.N.A.S.! That's one of the best albums, so if that's your first taste, then it's a good one to start with! BTW: that opening segment, "In the grooves of this record is the sound of [John Cage]" is taken from a wonderful recording of a Cage work on Everest Records #3132 & #3230 of Variations IV.
