Mark Knight & D. Ramirez V Underworld - "Downpipe" (plus Blinkenlights!). Such a shame that this single still commands $60 for a proper copy. Eventually, I'll snatch it up.
Followed by a wonderfully artful video for the opening track from Barking, "Bird 1"
Stuck with Barking for the next two tracks (really the strongest of the record), "Always Loved a Film..."
...and "Scribble"
Then I'll be moving on to their latest full-length effort, Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future (2016).
Thirty-seven years into the duo's career, Barbara is a shimmering and reflective record mirroring the majesty of their early classics like Dubnobasswithmyheadman.
From the familiar anthemic style of the opener to more intimate and artful explorations of tracks like "Santiago Quatro" and "Motorhome", Barbara is a triumph and one of the finest LPs of its release year.
Continuing the Underworld kick - just finished the Oblivion With Bells LP and have moved on to A Hundred Days Off from 2002, (working through a reverse chronology of the major full-length releases.)
