DJ Food & The Amorphous Androgynous (FSOL) ‎– The Illectrik Hoax

This is a monstrously psychedelic (bubble) RSD issue from 2012, and its name is lifted from a comic strip by Pete Milligan and Brendan McCarthy which appeared in the weekly UK music paper, Sounds in 24 parts sometime between mid ’78 and ’79. (And sure enough... there was a reference to The Prisoner in strip #4 (last image).

Fantastic.

Spoiler for Dig a few more pics and the strip with Patrick McGoohan.:

Clint Mansell - Moon OST.

Essential for any fans of dark ambient music.

Underworld - Oblivion with Bells

Criminally underrated. This is certainly not the first UW record most people reach for, but thoughtful and repeated listenings reveal a rewarding collection of subdued tracks following the path they began upon with A Hundred Days Off and their film score work.

Do not drop the needle on this looking for floor-stomping tech-house anthems or the chanting of, "lager, lager, lager..." - this is an intimate and reflective album of a more refined Rick and Karl, and it remains one of my favorites.

Why would you want to change "Thunderstruck"? That song is bad-to-the-****ing-ass.

Skalpel's first full-length self-titled LP on NinjaTune (1998)

Skalpel's Polish jazz plunderphonia blended with loungey downbeat electronics make for an ultra-cool lowkey soundtrack perfect for my Friday night.
