Tonight's spins: (sorry - no available youtube links for these)

The two earliest vinyl-only releases*by NYC blues-drone band, Endless Boogie. (I received them as a gift after the untimely passing of a DJ in NY when I was contacted to assist in liquidating her collection.)

This was promptly followed by the "Angels in the Sky" b-side from the*Benefit for Hati 12" EP by Sundae Club.*

Next up was The 8 Track*Stereo Record, a 5-track micro album featuring Matt Berry, Diana Yukawa and Bill Hunt (of ELO/Wizzard). Fifteen copies were issued worldwide of the 78rpm 10".

I followed that up with an official boot by Lemon Jelly. As they were unable to clear rights to the samples on the single, they issued the disc covertly with their name removed from the packaging (but still using their telltale Airside Design Collective typeface). The single, "Rolled" / "Oats" was a gold 7" housed in a hessian "burlap sack" style jacket screened by the duo.*

Fittingly, I played the die cut 7"s released under the false name "Frank Eddie" as a follow-up. More unlicensed sampling, but delightfully playful music.

To close out the evening, I'm revisiting Die Welt ist Klang - a beautiful tribute box set to the late Pete Namlook and his ambient label, FAX +49-69/450464. Musicians and fans of Namlook collaborated to produce this magnificent piece of musical history and I'm honored to have a copy in my library. *
