NP: Slowdive - just for a day
Picked up the UK original press at a show last week having never heard their debut, though I was already fond of Souvlaki and Pygmalion. Tonight is my first proper listen and I am absolutely blown away. Perhaps this record was critically forgotten in the shadows cast by the monolithic Loveless (though this LP was issued two months before MBV's epic), but just for a day is monumentally atmospheric and a brilliant work of ethereal noise pop in its own right and should not be overlooked.

Instrumental surf rock tune with a bit of a spaghetti western score vibe...
