I have always loved this album and haven't listened to it in a couple of years.

"I Cento Passi" (The 100 Steps) by Modena City Ramblers. It talks about Peppino Impastato: he was a Sicilian journalist who fought against mafia. And by mafia he was killed in 1978. He said that "mafia is a mountain of s**t". Today is his death anniversary and I want to honour him with this song:

Never thought I'd ever find this song again, or know who sang it. God bless this fucking song.

Underworld MkII - Beaucoup Fish
Once you've compiled a dauntingly large library of an artist's recordings (550 albums of these fellows), actually *listening* to them can be somewhat challenging. Where to begin?
This evening, I'm opting for one of the classics. Beaucoup Fish is the final album of UW's MkII phase including then bandmate, Darren Emerson. The album is a magnificent blend of anthemic beats and atmospheric progressive house nuances that make the record equally apt for both the club and for headier headphone listening.
The opening track, "Cups" instantly transports me to my high school summers spent burning CD-R after CD-R of the band's more elusive works at the dawn of the Napster era.
