I don't know what the hell this is, but it sounds like a non-metal version of Gorgut's Obscura, and that immediately places it among my favorite albums ever.

It's regarded as AvantProg and/or Zeuhl. Awesome album, although I don't really see the Gorguts similarities apart from the general gloom and dissonance.

This is going to surprise everyone when I say this, but Captain Beefheart is the ultimate non metal equivalent of Gorguts.

Haha, what the hell is Zehul? That sounds like Zuul, a minion of Gozer from Ghostbusters.

And yeah the gloomy atmosphere is what instantly drew allusions to Obscura for me.

Zeuhl and Zuul do indeed go well together.

Some examples:

Zeuhl can be quite beautiful at times too, especially early Magma and some of the more curious outlier groups like Universal Totem Orchestra.

Re-visiting some old Tull. So damn unique in the context of the times.

Decided to do something different tonight and throw on some ...And I Watched You From A Far. Great instrumental prog rock group. Followed by some anthrax among the living (album). Who knows what will be next?

I am listening to Kai Winding & His Orchestra playing Mondo Cane 1963 in Stereo while an ice skater performs. You can find it on youtube by searching "Kai Winding Stereo" in youtube then clicking on the ice skater in red.
