I love the political stuff but I could see it being annoying for some. But there are several non political songs on there. The right profile, rudie cant fail, lovers rock, brand new Cadillac, Train in Vain...

Yeah, but they, at least to me, have no more resonance with me than the political songs. Maybe they're about something important, but to me those lyrics just sound kind of throwaway.

The Right profile is interesting. They seem to be making fun of Montgomery Clift getting in an accident and jacking up his face. Seems kind of mean spirited but they sound like they are having so much fun on the song. That makes them interesting to me.

For whatever reason I always sort of associate the Clash with the Replacements. They both have a sort of similar power pop sound and the vocals definitely have similarities. It was after listening to the Replacements that I realized how much I didn't care about the Clash's lyrics. Paul Westerberg puts so much of himself and his emotions into his singing and Joe Strummer either sounded like a wannabe revolutionary or just some guy singing about this, that, or the other. It keeps me from really connecting to their music on anything other than a "Hey, this is really catchy!" kind of level.

I reviewed "London Calling" in my "Classic albums I have never heard" journal a while back. Don't recall understanding all the fuss. Was very underwhelmed.

Gallowbraid - Ashen Eidolon

It's like all the best parts of Agalloch's songs put into one. The vocalist does good harsh vocals, but I love his overlapping choir like clean vocal parts even more. It's definitely one of my favourite Atmospheric Black Metal songs.
