A special song for me. This has been around since my childhood, and I wonder how the album got into my record collection (garage sale find, possibly). Sadly, a lot of the music I had as a kid is no longer on vinyl form with me (obvious reason - too well played...), but this song has stayed with me since. |

Musically I dig the Clash, but their boring, self-righteous political tripe keeps me from being able to really connect with them. This is the only song on London Calling that actually has good lyrics. Probably because it's a social critique rather than a political one and has actual emotional resonance.
