Apparently Joaquin Phoenix's mind went on vacation, as indicated by this interview with David Letterman earlier this week.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see talented people totally wacked out on television appearances. My guess is he's been doing heroin. You'd think Joaquin would lay off the junk because his own brother's O.D. back in the Nineties.
