i f*cking heart the Locust. Although i think alot of people think metalcore is old hat. Or whatever subgenre they are meant to be. I think it depends if you grew up weaned on various strains of hardcore/death metal etc, that will affect how 'unlistenable' you find it

I grew up weaned on various strains of hardcore/death metal but I definitely think The Locust are pretty abrasive and brain-melting, in all the right ways.

I need an up on that for sure. I think Carcass are perfectly listenable myself.

Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz-Funk Greats is one of the strangest albums I've ever heard. So difficult to listen to, but for some reason I can't quite put my finger on I still love it.

I need to check out some early Boredoms. Soul Discharge was like HJASGBUIAGUIA. I prefer Vooredoms Boredoms.

I love this band - i saw them live in dallas and they made fun of the crowd the whole time and called all texans child molesters

But it seems like whenever I show them to a friend they give me a funny look... even more so when i try to describe them "well.. they're like a heavy metal band but instead of lead guitar they have synth... oh and all their songs are about video games."
