So about The Mars Volta, big lol at the others in their category, but at the same time, it's a little surprising that they won.

Well I'm not surprised about Coldplay winning alot because they’ve always been a fav band of the Grammys. But I'm sad that Radiohead isn’t winning nearly as much as I thought they would. I mean Weezer beating them for video of the year? That alone makes me believe there is a conspiracy against the band. I mean everyone knows the Grammys is just a way for record companies to jerk each other off. Then here comes Radiohead a well known band that bitch slaps its record company by releasing its new album almost entirely on their own. But I am glad they won best Alternative album, if they hadn’t won that I was hoping for Beck. But they are against Coldplay for album of the year. Radiohead have lost to them in the past, though I cant understand how that’s possible unless you’re inbred and slow. But I'm hoping Radiohead bitch slaps everyone else there by winning album of the year, if they don’t I don’t think they ever will. I mean Kid A and Ok Computer amazing albums and In Rainbows though very good isn’t as good as those.

In Rainbows is a bit more widely accessible than those two though, so that might be a reason... Also that Weezer vid was awful. I just watched every video for that category and they were all better than Weezer's.

The Grammy's have always been a steep slope to bull****land.

The show sucks. Only good things were Al Green, but Justin Timberlake and the band behind Al totally messed up the number. They should've let Al just sing. And Mars Volta win was good. Also Daft Punk won 3 Grammys earlier--good for them and their fans. And Radiohead's number was good, of course--I didn't even mind the college band that played with them. If they pull of best album, it might be worth the agony of having to listen to most of the excruciating numbers (though I switched to public broadcasting during most numbers, so I didn't suffer too much).

Awful. That is why no one likes the Grammys. At least give it to fucking Coldplay lol. The Plant/Krauss stuff is SOOOOOO boring.

The Grammy Awards are so utterly lame. Who cares about who wins?

They awarded the Best Vocal Performance to Milli Vanilli, a vocal group that couldn't even sing. A how about that unforgettable moment when Jethro Tull won the Grammy for Best Heavy Metal Performance? Lenny Kravitz has won the best male rock performance more times than any other rock singer in history... huh???

Bob Dylan never won a single Grammy award until 1979 when he was 10 years past his prime as a writer and performer.

Elvis Costello has never won a single Grammy for any of his solo albums or his work with the Attractions. Costello's only Grammy win ( only nominated twice in 35 years!) was for a song he collaborated with Burt Bacahrach on from Painted From Memory. I'll bet you can even name the song.

I don't think I've ever listened to any artist based on the number of 'grammys' they've won. Many around the world might follow it, but then again, the last thing I'd care about is that. Music is more of a personal preference for me. I don't need some stupid award ceremony to tell me whats good and whats not.

Yes, most of the choices are crap, but I'm still very happy to see The Mars Volta win. Very well deserved.

Raising Sand was amazing and it deserves everything it gets.

I heard at school that MIA deserved Album of the Year... besides being amused that they hadn't even considered In Rainbows, I was curious who this person was. Are they worth checking out?

The only reason I cared this year is because 2 of my fav bands were playing and nominated, Radiohead and Coldplay. But since Radiohead was fucked over quite abit last night it's the last time I'll ever watch.

And what the f*ck was up with Disturbed being nominated for ANYTHING?

Disturbed is a metal band who has catchy riffs and even catchier chorus melodies, so it would seem to follow that they'd be popular in a culture that doesn't appreciate the creativity that can, and should, be found in metal. That's how I see it anyway.

I didn't want an album name, I wanted an overview. I checked her out... I can't believe people in my age group are so stupid. At least Robert Plant's had musical credibility, even if it was a bit trite.

I'm not gonna complain about the awards because the people who win them suck every year (save TMV).

He should have done something from Innervisions. Or atleast something less synthy. :(
