Aesop Rock and all the cats in Blackalicious are my bet, and if yall said Tupac, 50 cent, or Eminem you need to turn off MTV2, ask yer mom for your weekly allowance, and go down to the record store and buy something a little more original and a lot less played out.

Its gotta be Tupac Shakur. The man was a poet, who spoke the truth about what he saw was wrong with the world. He could write songs about love, life and death and all of them were amazing. I think he was brilliant.

^^ I can't stand Aesop Rock. The guy's voice mainly.
2pac was the best overall. I don't appreciate the fact that Em has tried to mimic his style for the past few years, vocally and lyrically. I don't think 2pac woulda let Em get near his music if he were still alive.
Nas is just as much of a "poet" as 2pac. They're my top two without question.
Dilated Peoples, Talib & Mos Def, Sage Francis... my favorites right now.

everything em has done past marshall mathers lp has been his attempt at sounding like 2pac, lyrically and vocally. i'm not saying there's similarites, that would be a musical travesty. I'm saying he makes weak and pathetic attempts to sound like pac. And, the fact that he produced Resurrection and Loyal To The Game is an insult to Pac. My opinion.

If you dont think pac is at least one of the best rappers ever then you dont know anything about rap music. Tupac was on Entertainment tonight's top ten musicians of all time list. This includes Elvis, James Brown, and Tina Turner, and pac got ranked #7. No other rap artist has ever done that. He was also in the Guiness book of world records for being the most influential rapper ever. To date Tupac sells more records than any other rapper. In my opinion that's crazy. Tupac has the biggest fan base in the world right now out of any rapper. Almost all rappers today have stolen at least one line from tupac. Whether you like Tupac or not you have to say he is at least one of rap's greats. In my opinion he is the greatest rapper/storyteller ever.

To hookers and machineguns. What are you talking about. Eminem doesnt try to act or rap like tupac. All he is doing is paying his respects to him. Yes eminems music is inspired by pacs but he doesnt try to mimic him in any way. I just think that eminem should stop mixing up pacs music, because he is making some tracks just sound like garbage. Today I think that eminem is lyrically one of the best in the rap game.

couple songs he's done over the past three/four years gave me the impression that he was trying too hard to be like Pac, only solidified when he did Hail Mary and produced resurrection/loyal to the game. But Pac had an effect on the rap game in general, and theres plenty more rappers than Em who's "stealing" his sh*t.
