Eh, I'm sorry, but when it comes to rap there really is no competition on my iPod. Aesop Rock ftw! His lyrics are superior in every way -- he's close to Saul Williams in poetic ability -- and he can spit them pretty fast, too.

Failing that, Eminem's getting better.

In my opinion, the best rapper ever is 2pac, but the best rapper currently alive is Immortal Technique.
