i don't get how Relationship of Command had such a "profound" effect upon music, it wasn't really that entertaining and came about fifteen years too late.

Yeah I got hold of The Greatest Gift a few months back. I've not really given it any proper attention yet, just a quick listen but it left a favourable impression to delve deeper.
