Orrrr you could be like me, and pay attention to the song itself and not the lyrics so much.
Typically, I like anything, but Christian bands that make all sorts of different songs tend to be... I dunno the word. The album can be listened to repeatedly with less boredom. |

But as I was trying to say (I don't know who your comment is really directed to), I'm not bothered by the fact that the lyrics are this way as much as I am that the artist feels that the lyrics being that are so important and they want to be "a Christian band" and not "a band that happens to be Christian." As far as I know, Sufjan Stevens makes no claims or marketing specifically towards himself being a "Christian musician," although he is Christian and sometimes has lyrics that reflect that. For him, the music seems to be the more important part, and I can respect that when it is handled that way.

i'm ok with christian musicians what annoys me are Christian "Worship" musicians, they consider lyrics most important yet they put little or no effort into lyrics almost every christian worship songs is the same "love god, love jesus, praise god, praise jesus" ok we f**king got it from the first 100 albums of generic christian worship crap, we don't need anymore

We were always in non-denominational Christian churches, so they had full-on bands. I even drummed for some of them, sadly, when I was in the clutches of religious parenthood. They had songs who's chord patterns were no different than something Green Day would write, and the lyric... lol... sad to say, were worse. This is the day that the lord has made? I will rejoice and be glad in it? Nice hook, assholes. I want to listen to your music like I want my dick cut off you fuck nuts. Go to hell. |
