Default Music Banter Hall of Fame: Induction Thread 2

FOR CHRIST SAKES READ THIS FIRST

Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Induction thread

So here's the second induction thread, if ya don't know what to do read below.

The nominees are:

Radiohead
Music Banter's band of choice.... or are they?

The Kinks
One of the most popular choices yet in the nomination round, will they slip up now?

The Beach Boys
Do they give you good vibrations? (i don't know )

Public Enemy
Will they be the first hip-hop act into the hall of fame?

How this works

If you have over 100 posts under your name then you can vote, feel free to voice your opinions if you have less posts though.
There won't be a poll, votes will be made publically by posting in this thread. You can vote for yes or no as many times as you want, as long as there's an explanation for your vote.
So a post here would look like....

Radiohead: Yes, because....
The Kinks: No, because....
The Beach Boys: Yes, because...
etc.

The artists that get 2/3rd Yes votes for them get in, easy as that. Those who don't get in can still be nominated at a later date.

This'll be open for a week and a half, since people seem to be confused remember you are voting what YOU think should be in the Hall Of Fame, not what you think others would want or whatever.

Get voting peeps!

Radiohead
Yes because they've consistantly been at the forefront of innovation and seem to be ever evolving throughout their career. While my personal favorite Radiohead album isn't typically regarded as one of their better Pablo Honey still manages to send chills down my spine every time I hear the album. Truly one of the best things to come out of the 90s.
The Kinks
Yes because they're The Kinks. One of the funnest bands to sing along to, ever. While they're a band I don't actually know much about I can say with 100% certainty that they managed to blend upbeat vocal harmonies with guitar oriented rock music better than anyone else could. When I'm feeling down The Kinks are one of my go-to bands.
The Beach Boys
Probably a yes, I'll get back to this after I give them a few spins. My mom appreciates them far more than I do.
Public Enemy
I'm going to have to say no. I just don't connect to the music at all. It does nothing for me and for the most part I can't appreciate the cultural relevance.

Radiohead: Yes. I'm not their biggest fan and they get far too much hype. However they aim to constantly expand their sound and are talented musicians.

The Kinks. Yes Not as innovative as The Beatles but arguably better in my book and quintessentially English.

The Beach Boys . No Even allowing for the fact that I don't like them, i don't think they had as much impact in the UK (except for The Beatles) and they are mainly remembered for surf hits.

Public Enemy. Yes Crept into the mainstream whilst never compromising their principles and still eminently listenable.

Radiohead Yes, forget about their bands for one sec and remember that there's very few bands out their who are doing what they do and are as easily accessible.

The Kinks Yes, some of the finest singles ever made and a ton more charm than their counterparts.

The Beach Boys No, although it's a close one. I like them but they're not quite good enough for me i think.

Public Enemy Yes, if the Wu Tang aren't getting in like hell i'm watching Public Enemy fail as well.

Radiohead: Yes, though overrated greatly in music forums like this one, they are still probably the most important band of the last 20 years, so they greatly deserve it.

The Kinks: Why of course, you can't leave out one of the big 4 of the british invasion can you?

The Beach Boys: Yes, only reason not to vote for them would be out of personal taste

Public Enemy: Hey yeah, should be no argument for this one, most important hip hop act ever.

Radiohead: Yes because, to me, they are the best thing out there right now. I don't know what my life would be like with out them.

The Kinks: Yes because this is an incredibly fun band. Mi Madre loves them so they have some family relevance to me.

The Beach Boys: No. This one was tough, like it was in the first round, but to me they can't make it in off of fun but somewhat average pop tunes. Pet Sounds is great, but if Neutral Milk Hotel couldn't make it in off of the success of one album then The Beach Boys certainly don't make it in (In my eyes).

Public Enemy: No. The Unfan said it perfectly. Maybe I just don't get it, but to me they just aren't worthy of Hall of Fame status.

Radiohead: No; wretched band.

The Kinks: Yes, if only for the original VGPS and their early "rock" singles.

The Beach Boys: No. I can't think of a single track I want to hear again.

PE: Eh, I'll have to abstain from this one. Haven't really heard enough to judge.

Radiohead: Yes, because despite all the bitching and other nonsense that goes on here about them they are still an amazing band that represents the taste of a lot of MB members.

The Kinks: Yes, absolutely yes. Not only are they one of my favorite bands, but they're internationally loved. They're really something else. (LOL GET IT?!)

The Beach Boys: Yes, even though I'm not a fan. (Boo Boo said it perfectly.)

Public Enemy: No vote either way.

Radiohead
Yes, great band that know how to re-invent their sound and arent afraid to try different things.

The Kinks
Yes, theyre influence speaks for its self.

The Beach Boys
No, I cant think of any good reason really.

Public Enemy
Yes, probably the best political rap group ever.
