Default When people claim their music is better than yours

Ever noticed how everyone is constantly trying to justifty their taste in music and say it's better than anyone else's?

Even if you havn't, it's easy to see how everybody goes around saying music they dont like is *insert obsenity*.

Here's the problem with musical opinion.. it's completely personal.

No one is right and no one is wrong.

A song can be beautiful for one person and the worst song another person has ever heard.

It really doesn't matter cause if your a true music fan, you'll go beyond liking a tune for it simply being catchy.

Anyway i'm done

I agree, it's annoying. I figure people who do that kind of thing are just insecure. I try to always just say what music I like, and if I say something is bad I hope everyone knows that's just my opinion. There's tons of different kinds of music for all the different kinds of people, I think it's cool everyone's taste is so different.

yeah, I completely agree with you, but the sad thing is, no matter how many times that idea is repeated, it never catches on. People will always be arguing and insulting anothers musical tastes, and others will always be taking personal offesnse to someone who doesn't have the same taste as they do.

i try not to do this, but it happens. but in general, i like talking with people who have a wide range of taste in music. people who stick with one genre tend to be more argumentative and cynical towards other music, and it's hard to reply to someone who simply says they hate all so-and-so kinda music.

'Three violin manufactures have all done business for years on the same block in the small town of Cremona, Italy. After years of a peaceful co-existence, the Amati shop decided to put a sign in the window saying: "We make the best violins in Italy." The Guarneri shop soon followed suit, and put a sign in their window proclaiming: "We make the best violins in the world." Finally, the Stradivarius family put a sign out at their shop saying: "We make the best violins on the block."'

Sometimes a different approach is needed.

This is so true.
It's the only reaosn I own some Pearl jam records but use Pearl Jam posters for dart boards.
Not everyone is gonna like what I like. And I'm not gonna like what I like.
To keep that thin border and degree of sanity I just let in one ear and remember to blow out the other.
And it kinda helps that I lisetn to a veyr veyr wide range of music.

I've got just about everything in my CD collection. Aaliyah to Zepplin amd everything in between from the Von Bondies, even Britney Spears (no matter how much I hate her) and The Donnas. I'm not a big fan of the Donnas.
I've even got a Jadu (korean artist) in my collection and I don't even like her music. But I love stuff like Eugene and Sugar, and BoA, and se7ev, and chae tae hyun.

Yeah well, anyhow, for the most part i just try to keep an open mind because if I don't, I'm basically saying to myself that I don't wanna experience all the music there is to be heard out there. And there's a lot of music out there to be heard. And one of the things I am definitely gonna do before I die is a get a glimpse of all the sounds people have made over eeh years no matter where they're from or the language it's in.

Peace out.

I don't think I'll regret throwing out a britney spears cd.
I just have this reputation for having a really large CD collection. Throwing out any cd even a britney spears cd would take away from the credability of my collection.
