Might ruffle a few feathers with this one, but I feel that Bob Dylan is a truly awful singer... perhaps a great lyricist, tunesmith, whatever.... but he didn't have a great voice...

Now let the slegding of scottsy begin...

I don't think many people would dispute that, he's known for his awful voice. But I'll tell you what, I also think he's extremely overrated as a lyricist and that will probably stir up a hornets nest.

Gotta say I agree

To be quite honest.... I've never ever been a Bob Dylan fan...... ever

I can't get into his lyrics, music, or voice..... so I have to say that I completely agree

Bob Dylan is like Tom Waits in a way. Both of them sound terrible, but if you can't get past that and enjoythe amazing music you're listening to then I feel sorry for you.

I love Tom Waits and actually don't think he sounds terrible at all. Dylan has done some things that I've liked but overall he doesn't really do it for me.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Bob Dylan never aspired to craft a gravelly voice; it just came naturally. Tom Waits' distinct vocal delivery evolved from a stylistic decision and is an integral part of his music. If you think his voice sounds terrible, there's not much else to enjoy; you'd be better off just reading the liner notes.

I think the first Macy Gray album was perfectly respectable too. Was'nt too impressed with the follow up and that's where my knowledge ends.

Early Michael Stipe. I love it, but come on, it's true.
