Yes. I own almost all of it. I don't think then or now Tom Waits had any pretensions of being a crooner.

i don't know if you people know him but in Italy we have Andrea Bocelli (should be pretty famous abroad at least i guess). He's a sort of Pavarotti heir but he has the 5% of his amazing voice...

Then you're either deaf or crazy.

I agree on Ozzy, although I too enjoy his vocals ..

I don't really think Andrew Eldritch is a good singer, but I like him too.

Andrea Bocelli is IMO an excellent singer and I like a few of his songs as well.

I saw him sing a lullabye to Elmo on Sesame Street... oh the joys of watching TV with your kids when you are a parent...

I love how the person who made the list thinks over-singing qualifies as not being able to.

Oversinging really does suck though - I am so sick and tired of singers drawing out the end of words into vocal gymnastic demonstrations of their virtuosity. It's damn boring and it just craps all over the intent of the song half the time. It's just a great big showing off session to show how wonderful the artists vocal style is, and it turns music into some sort of sporting competition where listeners expect singers to out sing the last person. It sucks.

And thats what I really feel.

The truth. I think the reason i dislike shows like the X Factor and what have you isn't due to their authenticity or whatever but the fact that it seems to be promoting singers who just seem to bellow half the bloody time. When you think about it doesn't actually sound good at all!

My favourite singer is Tom Waits though so you can take what you want from that.
