I'm sorry, I don't think I understand that.

A lot of the time they insist that they are media shy because they don't want to make a big deal out of themselves and that they are just a bunch of regular people who love music, and that they aren't sellouts, etc etc. But then you go to their shows and they have these hugeeee elaborate performances and stage set-ups and everything. Their CDs get released and it's a huge big deal with people going crazy everywhere. I'm not sure if I can explain what I mean. Don't get me wrong Tool are my favourite band. I don't know who's fault it is that this kind of pretentiousness gets emitted, but it does.

Ok, I get it now. Basically that theres a lot of hype over something and they are acting very humble. But when it's time for a concert they go over the top? Is that it?

Yeah pretty much. They act like their supposedly humble. They insist that they won't give into any kind of commercialism or commodification. But then the whole concept of them as a band is over the top in so many aspects - not just concerts. But yeah - pretty much.

Ok, I would say that they are a good band either way though. But I see where you're coming from.

They act like they're humble even though you know they ****ing love it. I see the same thing in Radiohead at times.

Same. But I'm helping to combat the spread of fanboyism!

Lol, same could be said for Anti-Flag and NOFX. They're so irritating.

But I don't like them, so I don't have to put up with it.

Well, at least NOFX can be fun... when they want to be.

Rise Against and Anti-Flag are all like "BE VEGAN AND VOTE DEMOCRAT".
