I'm definitely not a fanboy as I don't try to listen to all the music bands have done. I've no doubt all groups have done bad music somewhere. My preference is definitely to listen to as wide a number of musicians of possible (and hopefully quite alot of variety) and just pick out what I like. I'm definitely more a fan of music than of specific bands/singers.

No. But this thread is for people who have favorite bands to rip them with one sentence. Did you bump this thread just to create a debate about the necessity of having favorite bands?
Sonic Youth I've never cared for or liked the good portion of your lyrics. And your last album, Eternal, sucks. (OK, that's two sentences)

Aesop Rock
Can you try making some less verbose tracks, like... :45 second songs, or 2 min. songs at half speed or something... so that I wouldn't need to listen and take notes and do research to understand what you're on about? |

Well , this thread is for fun, the way I see it. If you want to have an in depth discussion about whether it is necessary to have favorites and what does it mean to your listening habits, then, yes, you're welcome to create another thread.

Tom Waits
has become a one-trick pony. Yes, yes, Halloween music is fun. It sounds like you record everything in a tin tube with a busted microphone. Get back to the roots music. Where the **** is the jazz piano? Metallica People thought Load was bad until they heard St. Anger. Lesson learned: Fans are infantile and have **** taste. Go back to making Hard Rock albums and do what you enjoy. U2's best days are behind them, but at least they aren't trying to recreate Rattle & Hum at 50. The White Stripes Is this a ****ing album or a demo tape? Thank god you broke up. I like experimentation but this sounds like you threw up on a tape. Really? bagpipes weren't enough, you had to create a "pt. 2" track where it was sped up and sounded electronic. let me answer that: No. Ya didn't.
