Exactly what the title says. Post some of your favorite collaborations, the kind where the end result is nothing short of magical.

PJ Harvey & Bjork - Satisfaction

Strangely enough I am listening to The Fireman which is an ongoing collaboration between Paul McCartney (some band called The Beatles apparently) and Youth (bassist from post punk band Killing Joke and successful producer). It's not as bad as it sounds at all.

I love Youth and hate Paul McCartney so I figured a collaboration between them would wind up just middle of the road, but this is actually pretty good. When is it from?

This year lol This track is probably the best but wanna hear more?

Sure thing. Thanks!

Madvillain is probably my favourite hip hop group ever, a collaboration between MF Doom and Madlib. Their styles are just perfect for each other.

NOFX's cover of "corazan de Oro" is the best thing they have ever done.

Linkin Park & Jay-Z
John Mayer & Brad paisley

I'm also a fan of the Linkin Park and Jay-Z stuff...I can't stand rap/hiphop/whatever, but usually when Jay-Z works with another group they can produce some decent stuff.

I don't think I really have any outstanding collabs that I like though...

The Strokes + Regina Spektor

Modern Girls and Old Fashioned Men - The best song they've ever put out in my opinion...

I'm partial to Brian Eno and David Byrne's collaboration. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts is a fantastic album.

Madvillain is pretty great too, haven't heard Danger Doom though.

First of all... can I get a hallelujah for the MST3K?

"Hallelujah!"

Dangerdoom is excellent. "The Mouse and The Mask" is themed around Adult Swim, with character cameos throughout it. Great album.

Yeah but lets be honest... just to be fair... the best McCartney collaboration was with Michael Jackson- The Girl Is Mine. Don't even try to deny it... you LOVE THIS SONG.:shycouch:

sweet_nothing 01-29-2009 08:37 PM

I thought this was pretty tight.

Surell 01-29-2009 08:41 PM

Dangerdoom and Madvillain, hands down.

I'm going to say Black Moth Super Rainbow and The Octopus Project is my favourite. Such a good album but it's expected by two amazing groups.

Yo, Awesomeness. What up?

Haha. That one's not so great, but I was actually about to post 'Say Say Say'...I really do love that song.

Other collabs I love, off the top of my head:

Pailhead (Ian MacKaye with Al Jourgensen, Paul Barker and Bill Rieflin)
Super_Collider (Jamie Lidell and Cristian Vogel)

scytix 04-19-2010 02:20 AM

I also like the Linkin Park and Jay-Z collaborations.
