So do I. I like to pretend it's something normal, but I fear it might not be...
My flatmate and I used to rather enjoy the Scissor Sisters first album. But only when the other flatmates weren't home. His analogy: "Liking this album is a bit like cross-dressing. It's wrong on many levels but when you're on your own you can't help yourself". I was already in my 20s. I don't even have an excuse.

It's funny because people in real life don't actually think any of these bands are embarrassing e.g. Paramore, Owl City, Good Charlotte, etc. etc. In fact most people listen to them regularly
But online in music forums my god if someone finds out you like Green Day... shunned for the rest of your cyberlife aha.

Dookie and American Idiot were both their best albums IMO. American Idiot was just overexposed, after a while you think if I hear When September Ends one more time I'm gonna kill someone. I never understand Green Day hate, I know people that are REALLY into Punk might dislike them. Most proper Punk fans can't stand what they see as pretenders. But Dookie for me was as good a Punk record as I've heard. *Crawls back under rock.*
