its not that much of a secret... but i cant ****ing stand bowie (happy 62nd birthday). i dont know why. i TRIED to like him, i really did. everyone says hes so great, but for reasons unbeknownst to me he just bores me, and i have zero explanation for this. maybe someone will set me straight, but i watched a 2 hour dvd of his and liked maybe 2 songs.

i kinda like space oddity and life on mars.

Don't feel too bad, I really don't get the whole Bowie thing myself, I see where there is craftmanship to his work, I see where has tried to experiment and do new and different things, but god damnit, i just can't get into the stuff he's made - I tried too!

Or maybe its just the horrible memories of his whole commercial "Let's Dance" eighties period haunting the back of my mind when I hear his voice... Or that cover version of "Dancin' in the Streets" he did with Mick Jagger and someone elese... who was that mysterious third person?

Also.

I can't stand Bob Dylan or Radiohead.

Bob Dylan just doesn't do it for me, although I love Radiohead to pieces...

He may have been timeless influential, ground breaking and whatever else... but Dylan just grinds my gears, it might be the voice, it might just be the whole image, it might just be my old friend in high school trying to push his music on me when I really didn't feel in the mood for it, but it just doesn't gel for me...

How are Dylan and Radiohead in any way related?

From a Phil Collins fan to a Lionel Ritchie fan back in the day... I feel your pain...

I actually like some of Barry Manilow's music

I really like Britney Spears (though I wont defend her voice)
I will willingly listen to Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus (though, same as Britney, I won't defend her voice)

I used to listen to the worst music ever..... but now I absolutely hate it!
