Phases....
My friends and I grew up on metal. AC/DC, Maiden, Priest, etc. Over the years some of them fell for the trends. Grunge, then that Dave Matthews stuff, then that ridiculous Squirrel Nut Zipper swing stuff era, then whatever the hell else.
Those people upset me. They fell for music that is sub-standard but more importantly.....not what they really like. Oh, they're back now. We all went to AC/DC and it rocked. 10 out of 10. My question is...why the fads? Have you ever fallen victim and come back to your senses? |

Its called growing up. It takes many years to arrive at what exactly you like and dislike in music and even then you should still be receptive to listening to new music. Fads will always affect you when you are young.

You know as well as I do it's not just listening to the songs. It's who you hang out with and what concerts you go to and whether or not you wear that awful tie-dye stuff and wear that paguli oil (sp) and everything. It's growing up, but it's also getting caught in a bit of a hype-trap outside of pure music. |

I grew out of Metal but rediscovered my love again a few years ago, although a band has to be really good to pique my interest these days.
