Biggest letdowns of 2008
Speaking of Cardinology, what are some of your other favorite underperformers?
Here are some of mine: Bloc Party - Intimacy - A weekend...was a step down from Silent alarm, but I didn't expect to be totally turned off them so soon...:\ Sigur ros - Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust - Takk is one of the best albums ever so it was a given this one wasn't gonna come close, and it did even worse. I literally liked only one song on it and listened to it, forcefully, maybe 3-4 times. Maybe I'll discover its brilliance in a few years, right now it's just seriously bland. Wolf Parade - At Mount Zoomer - Pretty much the same story as with Sigur ros, Apologies is one of my favorite indie albums. I know I've liked a few songs off of this one and I listened to it a few times, but I suspect it was more out of respect for Apoligies than real liking. Antony and the Johnsons/Final fantasy EPs - kinda went under everyone else's radar didn't they? The former was rather unremarkable given the fact that I jizz at the sound of his voice, the latter was just truly awful.

Oh fuck off. Btw, that's a 2007 album, you're a bit behind on the hating...

Fleet Foxes "Fleet Foxes"
To be honest, it just got boring fast. Listening to it now I don't even really understand why I ever liked it, let alone the hype. The Hold Steady "Stay Positive" It just starts going downhill after Constructive Summer. It's like they just got drunk and stopped caring. Vampire Weekend "Vampire Weekend" One of the safest/worst albums to ever get such hype and acclaim. |

I agree. I didn't care for this album too much. Also maybe its just me but I really do not like Elbow all that much, I was surprised at how much attention Seldom Seen Kid got. And the new Oasis and Weezer albums were mediocre.
